I know what you mean Lynne, Its really bad that play park, we used to go there when we were bairns but now there is next to nothing. i like to take my sons to Thurso as they have a few swing parks up there & a good one in spring park- lucky devils;)

The Springpark one is good but Thurso Rotary in conjunction with TTIA have a cracker planned for Millbank - the basic info is here (http://www.thursorotary.org/index.asp?pageid=156126) but a larger version of the image can be seen here (http://www.caithnesshost.co.uk/millbank.jpg). Fingers crossed it shouldn't be too long before the funding package is complete and it can be realised.

Thats exactly what we need. All we need is a group to apply for some lottery funding for it.

Isnt that on the really wet and boggy bit at millbank?
Hope they put in decent drainage first!

No it's where the crazy golf is just now and along towards the opening across to the pool. The trampolines, I understand, would be staying, but the golf - which is in a terrible state anyway - would go.

Amy - Am really not sure what the relevance of the cloth is, but I'm sure you or someone else will enlighten me :D

Good luck Lyn. Awards for all is a good place to try for money get a group formed and get going, determination is all you need and a lot of begging form filling and you never know.

Unfortunately due to the financial constraints the council are suffering swing parks are a very low priority. Where there are swing parks they are losing a lot of play pieces due to them being in a terrible state and there is no money to replace them.:(

also there is £4 million available from the government for funding this sort of venture, but the closing date is the 4th or 5th of november if the thurso millbank proposal is that near to completion bar the funding then this funding stream might be of help
