Rock Band or Guitar Hero? What do you recommend?

I'm needing some advice!! as i haven't a clue about these!

Looking at buying either the Rock Band - band in a box or Guitar Hero World Tour - band pack for PS3 for my son's Christmas.

Would be VERY grateful for any recommendations and advice on which one to buy.

Its difficult, depends what version or guitar hero or rock band you would be getting. Song selection was a major factor for me making my decision

I have never played Rock Band, but we do have Guitar Hero world tour. Great fun, the more people the better. Instruments easy to use and software easy to navigate. Downside is they take up alot of room, mainly the drumkit!
