View Full Version : Godwits
At the weekend I saw what I think are Godwits on sandy patch between Castlehill Harbour and the Car Park at the beach end. I can't get a positive identification as to wheter they were Black Tailed or Bar Tailed. Has anyone else seen them?
Have been seeing a fair number of Curlews down there in the last week but not noticed a godwit but will take another look.
Hi Skifter, There were three bar-tailed godwits at Castlehill today.
Thanks for the confirmation Nemosia.

Thanks nemosia. was watching these at Brough harbour yesterday and wondering about the pink top section to the beak.
The sooner my books come out of storage the better!
Thanks ever so much for the beautiful photos Nemosia and for the info.
I may have seen them and mistaken them for Curlews. The beak seems to be the easiest way to distinguish between them.
