Upgraded PC, worse framerate

Recently I got new tech for my PC (GPU, CPU, more RAM, Motherboard)
Since then I installed and tried playing World of Warcraft only to get a lesser performance than what my last PC could do.
I also noticed that WoW is only using 51% of my CPU power.

I have a new Motherboard also:
ASUS P5KPL-AM Motherboard

I get awful framerates even in some quiet areas in World of Warcraft, and other games.
If i'm in a crowded area or looking out to a long distance my framerate drops to 14 fps. It was nothing like that on my old PC.

Help please.

It sounds like a graphics card issue.....

ATi 4800 ? not a 4830, 4850, 4870 ?

What driver did you install ? the ones off the CD, or the latest ones from the web.

If you used the ones off the CD, remove them, run Driver Cleaner.

Then install the latest drivers.

If its still the same.

Reduce resolution and turn off everthing else in the graphics options. work your way up turning up the detail setting until you get a good mix off performance and looks.

It's a 4850. Well I installed the Drivers off the CD, then I used Driver Checker from the web to update them, as the CD's weren't up to date (did this 5 minutes ago).

Working my way up through the graphics options is a good idea, i'll try that cheers.

If it's no better, then i would be removing the drivers, you need to use driver cleaner after you uninstall them (with Nvidia cards anyway) to make sure and clean out the remaining files, crazy how many files it finds. Other wise it's conflict time......and you end up with drivers that dono't work properly..

Have to admit every game i install, i imedietly put all settings on the highest and then work down if needs be. normally start with disabling Vsync and AA.
