it will be 70 years on wednesday that she was sunk in scapa flow
it seems there is going to be a revised programe on telivision this tuesday night, as far as i can gather anyway
it would seem to be there is only six survivors still living tony

unfortunately yes kevin and the ohs folks were amongst the first to be informed as her uncle ,a lieutenant instruster wasamongst those who perished excuse spelling tony

It's hard for me, as a mid 1950's child to imagine just what it must have been like to live and experience those sort of tragedies.

I grew up listening to war stories and most of them were glamorised, but I should think that anyone close to that tragedy, it would have a lifelong effect on them.

I gave it some thought today, and I could not even begin to imagine what it might have been like to have something like that happen on your door step.

I remember the Aberfan disaster that happened close to where I was brought up and i suppose the effect on the surrounding communities would have been similar

was quite friendly with a chap who was married to a girl from the aberfan area seem to remember it was a school that bore the blunt of it
know that many children were involved tony

it seems that three survivors of the royal oak took part in a memorial service in st magnus catheradal yesterday
on wednesday there is to be a service on the site from a naval vessel with some royalty aboard tony

not that many may be interested but have got a cutting which says that amongst the many boys lost on the royal oak was a john budge
his parents were dead but he lived with a mrs taylor in shore lane
was under boots in mckays hotel and prominent in local football clubs
had a brother in helmsdale at that time tony
