Went to Yarrows last Friday to capture the loch as the sun was setting.

Here are a few images taken then but I am not too happy with them. Any comments / suggestions to improve much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

(I seem to have a LOT of dust on my camera sensor, I could spend hours cloning them out. I know I have missed some. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions for cleaning?)

You should be more than happy with the first one,the light you've captured is just beautiful.

Quite agree, the light on the stones is beautiful but maybe a little less sky.

The horizon is sitting on the top third so going by the rule of thirds its sitting about right.Rules are there to be broken though, especially that one

Now thats all the honest opinions i'm giving on the subject of horizons, dont want to be called a perfectionist(again);)

I am not a photographer so cannot offer advice.

However, I do appreciate nice photos and I really like the first one. The light is just beautiful.

Yeh, the first one is a cracker. I can see what you mean about the dust on the sensor though. Is that caused by changing lenses?

Your sensor is filthy and needs a serious clean. All the black spots and blobs in all your images. Try using an air blower (rocket), quite cheap to buy. Like the light in shot one but the POV / composition isn't great.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Just confirmed my own thoughts on these.

I sometimes find I 'see' a scene and think, "Wow, that'll make a great picture!" and then when I view the results, feel disappointed with the outcome.

Need to practice some more to improve my compositions I think.

thanks again
