A clear night at last.

This one could be sharper but i've passed the usable magnification limit of the scope.
Have to get the big scope out next time.:)

If anyone is remotely interested here is a link to a slide show of all the astro photos i 've taken.

Excellent detail MPH - what equipment did you use?

Took some pics last night myself (first in some time). The high magnification ones didn't come out as sharp as I'd have liked, but here's a wider field view of the area in your first pic.

These were taken afocally through a 5mm Baader hyperion using my150mm f5 newt..The second image was taken with a barlow lens but that was pushing the limit a little(300xmag) especially with the moon being quite low.
Its my favourite area of the moon, just love the mountain areas.
Must get my 250mmf5 scope out just to see if i can get a few shots near 400-500xmag.Need good seeing conditions to stop everything wobbling around but might get lucky.
Thats a good wider view,Copernicus has come out really well as has the Mare Imbrium.
here's hoping for a few more clear nights.

Thanks Wicker05,Deemac and Liz.
Liz,you are spot on when you say "when its clear", which seems to be getting less and less.
Last year was probably the cloudiest winter i can remember although when we had that realy cold spell there was actually 8 consecutive clear nights.
Hopefully this winter will be better.

Yes lets hope the night skies will be better this winter MPH.

I really do love to go for a walk on a moonlight night but get a right crick in my neck from looking up!

Looking forward to some more 'heavenly' photos.

As an absolute beginner in this field, I am hoping for some valuable tuition from MPH, but I doubt if I will ever get this good! (But its going to be fun trying!)
