He is a cheeky monkey. His name is Inkstack Imperial and he has two names - Inky normally but Impy when he's being cheeky ;)

Are you on Facebook? If so add me (leanne kaut) and you can see more pics of the boy (and girlie). Can chat on there too...

Your photos made me smile too. I brought up a youngster who looked so like 'Inky' and worked with him for 5 yrs before we moved up here. When we decided we were moving we were told we couldn't bring him with us and I was heartbroken. 'Inky'has a real look of him,he's so handsome..I hope he turns out to be everything my 'boy' was to me. Good luck,he's gorgeous.

Hi just a party pooppa now, As to you standing behind your horse is a tiny bit silly really as it only needs some thing or some one to spook him and you be in A & E or 6 foot under, I do know what i am talking about as family owned own stud and bred grand national winners point to point and seen this done and seen people in hospital doing just what you do

But at least I'd die happy - I could be hit by a bus tomorrow but I still cross the road...

I do that so he gets used to having things behind him so he doesn't spook. I do everything I possibly can do to him in the field so he gets used to standing still and patiently without needing to be tied up :) Desensitising him is a good thing. As someone who has worked with race horses, point to pointers and eventers - it is something that the bad yards don't do and end up with spooky horses that cause accidents ;)

Everyone else - Thanks for all the kind comments guys. Everyone needs an Inky at some point in their life <3

He is lovely looking leanne, he looks a great character. He looks a grand type, what sort of plans do you have for him?

I gave my cob a bum scratch today but he is filthy so I ended up with nails full of gunk ha ha. I tend to groom him by scratching his neck and he grooms my shoulder although it could be possible he is trying me out as an alternative food source.

Your guys are lovely. Keep up the good work! He is very like his dad, very handsome, and should make a good eventer, good blood in him!
Jees look at his "Welsh lips". They are going to cause A. so much trouble, and B. so much hilarity when he is being scratched and rubbed. Mine has the "Welsh lips" and he has us in kinks every time we scratch him. It's amazing how far they can stick their lips out! And it's amazing what they can reach to 1 - pick things up, 2 - chew things (especially things they shouldn't!, 3 - knock things over and spill things, and 4 - just cause so much mayhem and chaos! Hope you have many many years of fund and success with him.
and yes, I agree we have enough skitty, spooky, terrified horses around, so you stick with the programme and get him used to everything you can! :)

LOL - his latest trick is to steal the grroming brush, dunk it in the water bucket and then run around at a million miles an hour acting like a clown. He also likes to headbut said water bucket until it falls over. Is that all points covered? :)

Thanks again for the kind comments. I went to see Tina yesterday and was admiring Welsh Man in the field - he's such a stunner!!!!

01-Sep-09, 10:03
Well it probably covers some points, but I am sure he will find much much more to be getting up to! Mine likes to take a drink, hold some in his gob and then give us all a shower, amongs many many other naughty but laughable capers.
I really must go up a look to see Welshman. I live not 5mins away from them and keep saying I'll go over a look. I really must make a point before the youngsters get any older!

You should - I went and sat in the field with them all yesterday. They were all flaked out so I just lay in the field watching clouds go by. ...until I got hairy snuffles all over my head - they are so curious :)

Got is from the big place in Thurso. I got it for the same reason - he keeps growing out of the ones with holes. These give an extra inch - and we all know how much that extra inch matters ;)

And some say that horses dont see in colour, i myself am not sure of this fact.
My youngster, last years foal would not come near if i was wearing red (and only when i was wearing red) strange huh!!

*Lovely horsey, ur foal*
