Hi there, I'm looking for a huge favour if anyone can help?

I desperately wish to order what is called a Boppy Noggin for my baby. Basically its a support cushion for the babies head. It keeps the head upright. If your baby lies to much to the left or right it may suffer what is called Plagiocephaly. Whichever side the baby favours sleeping on all the time may actually go flat because the skull is so soft. Unfortunately my baby is lying to the left all the time and i am very concerned that this may happen to him. Of course i can use a wee blanket to prop him over but my mind would be more at ease with something designed specifically to help.

I have searched the net and a uk web page advises they are not available to purchase in the uk as yet. I can only find Amazon.com will order but they will not send to us hear in Caithness.

Now the favour part...and i now its such a huge thing to ask when i dont know any of you guys...and i dont imagine anyone can help but i wont find out unless i ask!!

But is there anyone you know abroad/America that could order/buy this item for me and i can pay obviously the price of the item and postage??

If anyone thinks they could help it would very ...very much appreciated!!

Thank You

I have ordered items from Amazon.COM and they have delivered them to the UK. Is there some other reason they won't deliver this to the UK?

The reason you can't get them seems to be that in the UK pillows of any type are not recommended for babies under 1 as is mentioned here.

Hi.
If you are still wanting one, here is a link you can copy & paste. It takes you to ebay USA where there are 4 for sale!!!
Maybe if you contact them they might agree to sell you one?

I have never ordered anything from Amazon before so i am unsure how they work. I have tried to order it this evening twice and on both occasions it allows me to select the item, enter my address and after this it throws back that they cannot ship to my address.
It is only a ten dollar or so item, do u think its becos its so cheap that they wont ship over.. I dont have a clue??

Unicorn -
Yeah i read over that website already but i dont think there warning is for the boppy noggin.
If you read it again it advises - "the following items" are not recommended..it go's on then to show you and describe a sleepcurve mattress and pillow etc which No are not recommended in the uk...
The warning isnt for the previous items... one being the Boppy noggin....

The info it gives on the boppy noggin is - These are neck supports, made by www.boppy.com, specifically to help avert plagiocephaly. They do not seem to be available in the UK as yet, but can be purchased from a number of US websites.
---I cannot find any other Us Website that will order this for me?

Im surprised Mothercare dont do this. Is it an address outside Caithness you need? I have had problems too with post, some companies think we are in Orkney because of our kw postcode. If you need an address I am going to near aberdeen shortly, you could get it sent there and i will bring it back with me. Let me know if this is an option for you.

Yeah again that is through Amazon im afraid. Thanks though.

Fran, do you know the full address in Aberdeen?
On amazon it asks me to select the item, and then enter the address..
It will stop me there if it will not send to Aberdeen either..
Could i borrow the address as such for a moment?
If you could PM me or if you would rather not disclose the address, possibly you could enter it in Amazon for me to see how you could get on?

you dont say how old your baby is but if it is tiny learn how to swaddle him. if you dont know how to do this ask your mum or your granny or your midwife ir health visitor.

• Place a cotton pram sheet or cotton cellular blanket on a flat surface and fold down the top right corner about 15cm / 6 inches.
• Place your baby on his back with his head on the fold.
• Pull the corner near your baby's left hand across his body, and tuck the leading edge under his back on the right side under the arm.
• Pull the bottom corner up under your baby's chin.
• Bring the loose corner over your baby's right arm, and tuck it under the back on his left side.
this will ensure baby stays where he is put and cant roll over onto one side.

if your baby is a bit older buy a cotton cellular pram blanket, fold it in half and roll it up tightly into a sausage and place it down the baby's back. that should help to stop baby from always rollingonto his other side for a while

Fran,
My partner tried the different address last night and it still wont work. I wonder as i said previously if its becos the item is so cheap. Not sure. Thanks for your help tho..

Squidge,
My baby is coming 8 weeks old now so yeah to old to swaddle. He is lying on the right hand side all the time. As soon as i picked up on this a few days back and realised it could do him harm i have been propping him up to lay on the other side of the head or head straight up. As u say just using one of his wee blankets. But of course he wriggles about and often i go back to him and he manges to have got his head back over.
This boppy noggin looks great and will hold his head in place in his rocker, car seat etc.

I mailed all the folk last night that are selling these on ebay.com. All came back to say they would not post over here apart from one lady. She is checking out the postage cost for me now so fingers crossed she will agree to sell it to me.

Thanks everyone for your help.

I found someting on Ebay called 'Nircom love nest baby head support' which sounds exactly the same and is designed to prevent plagiocephaly.
It is £10 + £6p&P and is from the Urban Nursery Baby Shop

Hope this helps!:)

That one Liz wouldnt support the babe whilst in his car seat or rocker. Looks like that one is just for a babe lying down. Cheers anyway.
