I'm trying to e-mails via a hotel wifi connection but although I am receiving OK I can't send. I get this message:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'whatever'. Subject 'Re: Help welcome...', Account: 'mail.plus.net', Server: 'relay.plus.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 relay not permitted', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Are there settings that I need to change? I have Windows Mail. (I'm using my usual Plusnet account, not webmail).

As the hotel does not use Plus.net as their provider the mail cannot get out through their server. Just stick with webmail :D
