Wife phoned to book a taxi @ 08.15 to take her to the train station, the person on the other end of the phone said no without an explanation then said you can have one before 08.15 of after, she booked for 08.30 . The taxi was late and my wife said the train was @ 08.41 the driver said no it;s @ 08.50 when they got to the station the taxi driver said oh the trains gone that will be 3 pounds and left her at the station. When she got home she phoned the office to complain the person in the office said it was your own fault for no booking it sooner and what do you want us to do about it. So the moral of this story is, if you need a taxi for the train station don't phone harbour

That's appalling service - you would expect the local taxis to know the train times and to ensure they turn up on time so as not to make their customer late. A lift out to Georgemas should have been offered by the driver by way of an apology.

With respect, leaving just ten minutes between pick-up and train departure isn't a clever thing to do. Taxis get held up - the same as everyone else.
It's always best to build in some leeway in these situations. They probably couldn't get you in at 08:15 because they already had a booking. If that one was running just a few minutes late it would snooker you immediately.

As their was a taxi going to be near they took the booking, as the office said they should have advised that an earlier taxi would have been better and the driver shouldn't have taken the fare

The office should have passed you on to another firm that could do the run , thats what they do in Wick . Rather than you miss your train- thats a very poor service indeed
