I have not used Google Earth for a while because the images that are available for Caithness were poor.
I logged on to have a look today and it has been updated with some great and clear images of Caithness and the surrounding areas..
Although the images are not new (probably about 5 years old as Lidl is there, but no Homebase etc) it does give some interesting features on the landscape.
One that intrigues me in particular is a large field at Noss head farm that is one field away from the farm buildings to the west and has some very symmetrical shapes in it. I would guess it would have something to do with the airport.
It is also very apparent how the fields are all rectangle or square.
