Hello, out there. I have an Advent 8115 laptop which fine EXCEPT lately it has been losing the bar across the bottom of the screen after it goes into hibernation. Luckily, the Microsoft ball stays there, but the rest of the information, e.g. the clock etc disappears. I have tried dragging the mouse below but it doesn't help.
It uses Vista.
Is there anyone out there with any good ideas? Please?

What I mean is have you run Windows Update on it by either going to Start->Control Panel->Windows Update or by going to www.windowsupdate.com (in Internet Explorer)?

There may be an update to Vista that fixes the problem.

OH did as you suggested and found a couple of long updates. They have been done - and now I am about to test them!!!!! You are very helpful. Thanks again.
