I used to buy quite a lot off Ebay. What put me off was getting a pair of jeans once and they were absolutely humming of smoke. I didn't even bother washing them, I just put them straight in the bin, disgusting!!
i don't really like the thought of people hunting the jumble sales then selling the stuff on Ebay for sometmes a small fortune.
But, saying that, the buzz of winning at the last second was quite a good feeling but I don't really fancy getting sucked in again.[para]

I used to use ebay loads when it was normal people selling things they didnt need, there's too many traders on it these days and bargains are few and far between. Only got ripped off once and that was for £14 for Ink Cartridges. Its better using paypal I believe as you get insurance?? Or am I wrong?

I was on ebay but pages not loading so decided to visit the forum. It is very addictive. Great fun so long as you're sensible and use paypal, I've also made a good friend of a seller which is nice. Don't think I'd want to buy clothes but use it a lot for toys. Always a good idea to check prices with other sites as I've seen people pay more on ebay than the current price in, say, Argos, which is mad. Did lose something in the post recently but think it was genuinely lost as I've lost a few other things lately including a cheque I posted.

I think ebay is great!

I've bought loads of things from ebay, and luckily I have never had any problems. I have sold a few things as well.

My wife & I are regular buyers and sellers. We've bought everything from birthday/anniversary presents, kids stuff, jelly beans and plenty in between. My colour laser cartridges cost me £125 per colour retail, on E-bay I can get them for £65 so you can bet I keep a close eye out for them.

I recently got a new contract phone but, when it arrived, decided I didn't like the phone. The contract was £11.99 per month for 12 months = just under £144. I sold the phone without the SIM for £163 and put the SIM in a old phone which was lying in a drawer. Easy money!

We've sold quite a bit of our kids stuff - things they'd grown out of - including clothes, toys, character duvet sets, etc. It's a great way of clearing clutter.

Just use PayPal for everything - we don't even bid unless the seller accepts PayPal - it's just so easy and payment can be made within minutes of the end of the auction.

We love Ebay!

My favourite part o' Ebay is the Cd's ye can pick up for dirt cheap.Been looking for two albums on CD for about 15 years.Could never find them in specialised music shops or anywhere.

Went onto Ebay and got the two of them within 2 weeks.Must admit though I have spotted a few more and could easily be bankrupt in a month!!!!!!

I'm totally addicted to eBay. Have traded in well over 1000 auctions, been disappointed a few times but just sell the item if it's not what I expected. Never (touch wood) had anything go astray yet. Would recommend to everyone as long as you're sensible. Some really great bargains to be had and friends to be made. First place I look now if I'm needing something!

been using ebay for the last couple of years now!! there's been a couple of times when it's been the only place I could get what I wanted.
There are bargains to be had out there, but less nowadays as more and more people are seeing that ebay can get them a few extra quid.

I got fed up being outbid by people at the last minute, so now I use a sniper programme. I know some people hate it, but I figured I'll fight fire with fire! I only use it on auctions I really want to win as it does take the fun out of it.

Also, alot of people make spelling mistakes in the headings to the auctions...... like 'Stra Wars DVD' (Star Wars DVD.... so we use this programme that check for the auctions that are spelt wrongly. You sometimes find a REAL bargain there as nobody else can find it!

I occasionally buy and sell on Ebay. If finished with an item that still has good use and value, I sell it, put money in my paypal account, and use that money to buy what I want. Last thing bought was a caithness county scouts badge, its going on my suitcase (50p well spent LOL)

I've found replacement parts for a very old sewing machine, and a few lovely jumpers (bought in summertime when no one wants to think about wool).

Hubby is a vinyl LP fanatic, and could qualify as ebay addict. I did put the kebosh on him setting alarm for 3am to make a 2 dollar bid. Sheeeesh! But otherwise harmless fun, neither illegal nor immoral, so have at it.
