Hoping someone can help me.

I gave my boss my letter to say i will be finishing work and this was me giving my notice. He told me he didnt want me to work my notice. Should i still get paid for this as i have given him notice and its his choice for me not to work.

Phone CAB, but I would def be wanting paying if I was in your position.

BTW, what was your position - I'm looking for a job

Apparently your employer is under no obligation to pay you as you will not be working, however, you can insist that you work your notice period which is the only way you will be paid.

I would think you are still entitled to a weeks pay plus your holiday money.

If u have handed in your notice and your boss is not wanting u to work it its only fair he pays u have u ask your boss if u are going to get paid

have you checked your contract to see what it says regarding giving notice?

I am sure that if you hand in your notice you either have to work it, or be paid for it if your employer says he does not want you to work it. Check with the local CAB.

. . . but you should attribute it to Muhammad Ali, I think.

I know when i worked for BT down here in Glasgow, if you handed in your notice to work in another call centre, then escorted you of the premises the same day, but you did get paid for your notice period..
