I discovered yesterday through death registry entries via the Internet that my grandfather, Robert Smith Tolmie died on 25/08/1934 at the age of 34 in County Bldg Watten. I would like to know if he is buried in Watten cemetry. Can anyone help me with this information or tell me how I can find out, please? Thank you.

I have checked Watten Burials and your grandad is not buried there.
His address on the Death Certificate was given as
"Balphadrick Cottage, Charleston, Inverness" so it is possible that he is buried in Inverness.
Your best advice would be to get in touch with the Admin Office, Protective Services, Inverness on Tel. No. 01463-717849 and they should be able to check the Inverness records for you.
Hope this helps

Hi Linda

I was wondering if you every found the burial place for your Grandfather. Robert Smith Tolmie was married to a Great Aunt of mine, Catherine Bain, and they are buried at Tomnahurich cemetery in Inverness along with their infant daughter.

I would be delighted if you could get in touch and let me know any more information from your branch of the family. Is your father Robert Tolmie?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards.
