does anyone know if its possible to get a copy of a companys tax returns for the yr ending 09???

http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ should give you limited accounting information about all UK companies.

Tax information will be pretty limited so it depends what you are looking for. For example, the annual accounts will give you an idea of tax liabilities.

As for year ending 2009 very unlikely.

Company returns /accounts are not actually due until 9 months after the company's "year end" date.
Therefore, for example, if the company has a year end date of 30th March 2009, the accounts dont need to be submitted (or corporation tax paid) until 1st January 2010.
