View Full Version : Caithness Moths - Shears

Pterodroma
07-Jun-09, 18:28
A moth of muted browns and buffs the Shears takes its name from the pale, double pointed mark on the centre of the wing which resembles the blades of a pair of shears. It prefers more open habitats like heathland and sand-dunes but can be found in open gardens and woodland. It will be on the wing until early July.
