Anyone exploring this family in Borrowston Wick parish of Francis Craig and his wife Helen Donaldson. Married 4 Feb 1820.
Francis Craig was son c 1791 to William Craig & Barbara Taylor He died 21 Feb 1863 aged 72 – informant son Henry.
Helen(Ellen) Sinclair Donaldson was daughter c2 May 1799 of Robert Donaldson and Mary Innes. She died 11 April 1867. Informant son-in-law Donald Nicholson(nb. m Mary Craig 1859 in Thurso-his 2nd wife).
I have both death certs for Francis and Helen.
Francis and Helen had several children from marriage to 1842 inc daughter Jane b 27 Oct 1842 married Peter Bremner -Jane died 1868 - he remarried.

NOTE on www.Brebner.com for Peter Bremner it states Jane Craig is daug of Francis Craig and Helen THOMSON – error should be Donaldson.

This will perhaps tie some families together – hope it helps someone – feedback would be great.

Hi Tricia,
Helen Donaldson was my 2nd Great Aunt her sister Margaret c 24th Feb. 1797 died 1863 in Wick.was my 2nd ggrandmother she married John Sinclair 1816 in Wick.
John and Margaret had 8 children b between 1817 and 1837 one of their sons William Innes Sinclair 1829-1900 was my ggrandfather he was a Master Carpenter and his business was in Macarthur Street and still is I believe.
Robert Donaldson and Mary Innes had 11 children.

There has been a bit of Donaldson data in CFHS email group recently. Not sure if you are a member. Let me know - If not I will see what relates to yours and add here.
There are still a lot of missing pieces though and I am not further forward with this twig.

I am also looking for another Margaret Donaldson b c 1805 Watten who married 1825 Watten James Shearer. Had at least 12 children. with 3 of the children with a middle name INNES. found in 1841 1851

I have just been told that the above
Margaret Donaldson died in 1885. Her parents were John Donaldson and Ann Bruce. born in Watten around 1805.
