The subtle coloured Bright-line Brown-eye is identified by the orange patch on the kidney near the edge of the wing (the "brown eye") and the white outer crossing line forming a clear W (the "bright line"). It is a common moth and the larva feeds on wide range of herbaceous plants including nettles - another reason to keep a nettle patch in the garden!
