as most of you know, broadband is just around the corner, but with so many companies out there, which one are you gonna go with?

I did some internet shopping last night and i think i'm gonna hook up with Nildram. I might even get a 1mb connection with them. They are reasonably priced.

take a look at their site www.getadsl.co.uk

who you taking then?

Of course you should be making us jealous. How else are we going to convince the rest of Wick to get off their back ends and sign up?

I for one am looking forward to stories of how fast it is and how fast caithness.org loads up. Super fast downloads, watching movies, etc etc... Tell all. Rub the faces of those who havent signed up yet right in it. :evil

I'd go with Pipex. Cheap and reliable and I've heard nothing but good stuff about them from lots of folk who work in IT.

Pipex have been very good to me; good service, good price.

Also, and I don't know if this is unique to Pipex, but they seem to go that extra distance for their customers. I always get an email from them before BT are going to be doing any work on my local exchange advising me of dates, times, and possible consequences. I would have thought that was between me and BT, but it's nice that Pipex pass on this information to me...

having had broadband before, i can assure you that you won't be disappointed. Its ace. Download music in a matter of mins, videos stream perfectly, pages open up in seconds, e-mails take no time to download.... its just a dream.

i'm seriously considering getting a 1mb connection. I'll be running a home network with two pc's sharing the connection, so i think it will be perfect. doubling the speed for an extra £13 ain't bad

your gonna love broadband

Well, I've just signed up with Applica Broadband - the fact they cater for both PC and Mac users is a definite bonus, and they also provide a back-up dialup connection for those moments when BT pull the plug.
A 3 month minimum contract instead of being tied in for 12 months also swung me in their favour.
So hopefully, i'll be zipping along in cyberspace knocking all you doddering 56k-and-slower-users off yer feet!!

I always find the performance ratings of ISP's to be rather confusing as one week a provider can be number 1 then next week they are down to 24.

now I got ADSL
you'll no be keeping me away!

Finally, after much head scratching and banging I have my wireless side of Broadband up and running. The speed is great. The Northern Lights pics load in a blink of an eye.
