Looking for video conversion

Hi folks

Does anyone know of an individual or firm in Caithness who can take old family films and transpose them from super 8 reels to VHS video.

I have seen a few advertised on the web but it appears there are certain worries about companies using the footage commercially without permission so I would rather find someone on a recommendation basis.

I'm sure there is someone who does this in the county, but cant remember who, or if I every heard anything about them. Will keep looking....

Or do you fancy becoming that someone....? If you have a working 8mm projector ...

A friend of mine copied his family's films onto VHS himself, he just set the video camera onto a tripod pointed it at the screen onto which the film was being projected and voila. I was always going to try this once myself but then the projector packed up ...
