we have had this one before i know but how long after the council paint the white lines around the ever growing holes in our roads do we have to wait till they are filled.

the road by the police station in thurso is now so bad that bikers both motor and pedal have to go onto the wrong side of the road to avoid dammage or a crash and its getting worse and its not much better right through the town

COME ON COUNCIL THE WHITE LINES DONT FILL THE HOLES

Sorry you can't blame the 'Cooncil' for this one. The road that runs past the Thurso Police is the A9 and a trunk road. A Scotland Transerv responsibility.

MP's expenses of course.;) Why would they want to waste good money filling in holes in the road.?

It was called road tax at first, for the reason of helping to build roads, but governments/chancellors have gradually changed it to VED (vehicle excise duty) so they can use it for anything.

Report it here (http://www.fixmystreet.com/) and the report should be sent to the correct maintainer automatically. Have had quite good response to previous pothole reports, albeit on Council roads rather than the A9 itself. Good luck :D

Olrig Street report on your link has been bounced. Phone number for Transerve who deal with trunk roads is 08000322520. Let`s inundate them with calls about the giant potholes around Thurso tomorrow.

There isn't a shortage of tarmac and it's not Transerv's fault the road is in a poor condition though you probably do have to notify them of the potholes, it's the Scottish Government that pays for the upkeep of the road and they will put greater emphasis on heavier used roads.
