ThanksGosh Porshie, you're ambitious. A marathon takes a lot of training. I don't know of any marathons in Caithness but I quite fancy trying the Loch Ness Marathon (http://www.lochnessmarathon.com/events/) some day.

Has there not been something held down by the swimming pool in wick before?
I remember the roads around that way were closed last summer for runners..you could always phone the swimming pool to see what information they have..

Porshiepoo, I know you said runs in Caithness but have you ever thought about this one....http://www.raceforlife.org/
It is held all over Britain and the nearest one to here is Inverness. It has the most marvellous atmosphere which really inspires everyone. It is an all women run of 5km (around 3 miles) and you can run, jog or walk, whatever suits you. It is to raise funds for Cancer Research and there are lots of cancer survivors, sufferers and friends and relations all intent on raising money for a cause that is close to all their hearts.

There is a warm-up period before the race and you have over 1000 women dancing and exercising to music and they have such fun.

You can take it as fast or as slow as you like, you will have plenty company which ever way you choose and there is laughter and smiles all the way!

I thoroughly recommend it!

Ann
