What is this?
It's a bird of Prey of some kind. We thought Peregrine or Kestrel but although the photo only really shows the underpart, the body was actually what looked like a golden colour.
Very fast, hugs the ground, doesn't hover like a Kestrel, being mobbed by crows and when in flight it was the size of a Crow.
Photo is so rubbish cos the darn thing is too fast. lol
Hmmmm, maybe SparrowHawk?

Unfortunately it's only the arse end.

Going by the tail pattern and colour of the undersides of wing, I'd say it was a kestrel. :)

I think so too, female kestrel, going by the black banding in the tail.

Initially That's what Hubby thought but it was just too fast and its flying style wasn't anything like a Kestrels - yet it looks like one! :confused
Guess I'm gonna have to stake the place out a bit more and see if I spot it again.

Well, chickies have hatched. Bless.
Definately a Kestrel. She had 5 eggs hatch but 2 of the chicks were found on the floor, poor things. There's a crow nesting nearby so we're not sure if that had something to do with it. There's also a wild cat close by so that could be up to no good, or else they could have simply fallen or been pushed.
Anyways, 3 chicks looking happy and healthy. Awwwww!
