Andrew, would it not be possible for you to privately rent a house anywhere up here in Caithness....just to get you back and you could then do the searching and keep your ear to the ground at least within the geographical area. You would then have the chance to take your time and look for the proprty best suited to you and your family.
Maybe you all just need to take a leap of faith....arrange to rent the right size of property you need for you and you family and then....get yourself back into the county...............:)

Andrew you might already have done so but you could look at http://www.caithnessproperty.co.uk/ (http://www.caithnessproperty.co.uk/) which lists properties handled by Georgesons, Drever & Heddle and Young Robertson.
Pollards at http://www.pollardmortgageshop.co.uk/ (http://www.pollardmortgageshop.co.uk/) have listed Hollytree Cottage, Parkside, Lybster for a fixed price £160,000.
Good luck

The Yard in Wick is looking for someone to take over the lease - it's not Lybster but it's only 20 min and is a good size bar with kitchen facilities?

You would be wise to stay well clear of Belhaven, their last few tenants didn't stay long. The lease, I'm told, becomes very expensive in the second year.
