Incredibly, my old friend Paddy Power is offering odds on who will be the next Pope!!

Most of the names on the betting list mean little or nothing to me, but eagle-eyed readers may notice a couple of the rank outsiders!!

I notice that one of the fancied contenders, Francis Arinze, is Black. Could there be a Black Pope to follow a Black President of the USA?

How about Pope Idol ??

Simon Cowell, Chery Cole and Ozzy Osboure could be the panel. Might be fun having the Prince of Darkness pick the next Pope. Cheryl Cole could sit there telling them "she liked their frock" and Simon Cowell would be right at home, seeing as he thinks he is God.
