Just a reminder of another way to check school closures. Probably not as accurate as MFR but every little bit helps.

Can anyone confirm if North School in Wick is closed?
Hubby said he heard it was closed on MFR, but it doesn't appear on either of these sites?

looking at info from council is Mount pleasant totally closed??
the messaging service says mount pleasant is closed to all pupils
luckly i checked the mfr link because on the other link it says the nothing about the south school being closed .lol
mount pleasant afternoon nursery cancelled and they will update at 12.

little bit is right ! First thing this morning it was down and now there are only 2 schools listed as closed. Surely they can do better than that?
mfr are not much better today unless you are actually listening to the radio its not been updated on website

I saw the forecast this morning and it predicted between 5 and 10 cms would fall in this area. As there is no wind it was forecast that there would be large accumulations. Dosent the school check the forecast. What a shambles. I feel sorry for people who work and now have to reorganise their day because of their children being sent home. They should have had the day off.

Ah but look 8 this morn nothing 9 a wee flurry by 9.40 white out, now look, if in wick, like the bahamas blue sky, sun, no clouds, ye cana win.
Does anyone know what the road is like from say alness to wick??
According to Moray Firth Radio it is not very nice at all.

heard that lorries are jack knifed at Dunbeath and the Braes are not good. No doubt things will change frequently though through out the day. The advice is certainly to stay at home unless your journey is absolutely necessary

I just had a courier (not paper) driver at the door he said the road is really bad. The reason i am asking is the man is planning coming home from work .

I wish I didn't bother putting my kids to school today. I am not working today but it has been a hassle. Suppose it's hard to know what to do for the best for all parties concerned.

But is it correct,for example it says" Wick High school will close at 12.00 for bad weather." but why open it in the morning and not the afternnon when they dont know what tomorrow will bring. So I was wondering are they getting messages for tomorrow mixed up with what happened today.
