was the overall winner a dog which Mucky Pup's grooms??????

I do not know which show fuzzypeg was at but it could not have been the Mucky Pups show - what a disaster it was -organisation was non existant.

Never seen a local dog show with so little number of classes -

The judges where a joke - they did not appear to have any formal knowledge of dogs. Where they cruft approved???

One of the judges I believe worked or works for Mucky Pups as a dog washer. Talk about being unbiased!!!! What qualifications does a dog washer have to judge a dog show.

Had a cat entered it could have won - o' sorry a cat did win.

One of the organisers was a very rude women to several people I understand.

They had a group for dogs in which there where only 3 dogs.

Facilities for the dogs was non existent

if you were there then you should have known that there was facilities for the dogs, and i dont believe that any of the judges work for mucky pups.
This was a fun charity event, not a proper pedigree dog show,if anyone was looking for that then they chose the wrong venue

I was there and saw the disaster first hand.

The facilities were very poor even for a local fun show.

If is was a so called fun event then why was it advertised as having pedigree catagories????? with rules?????

The poster didnot say it was a "Fun Day for Charity" - it gave the impression it was a proper dog show - since it was such a disaster people are now saying it was a "fun day event"

I am sorry but you are wrong one of the judges did work or works for Mucky Pups.

one of the organisers was rude to people - so much for a fun day!!!!!

I am sorry that people do not like what I say, but then the truth is never very palitable.

I went to a village show once (to show my classic car) and as always I took my two dogs with me.

When I had got my pitch sorted we went for a walk around to see what other events where on that day and low and behold there was the village dog show (only for fun you understand)

It was about an hour before the start of the dog show and one of the organisers asked would I like to enter my dogs (two Boxers) and I said “no”, this woman followed me around for the next half an hour telling me it was for charity and how much everyone would enjoy seeing my fine dogs and eventually I said OK.

I have never been to a dog show before and felt a complete Pratt prancing around a ring, but the dogs seemed to enjoy it.

One of my dogs won a first for the dog the judge would like to have taken home and he won second for the dog in best condition and that’s when it stopped being “just a bit of fun”.

I could not believe some of the comments from people that had obviously came specifically for the dog show and resented a novice getting a prize and they didn’t.

Reading these posts smacks of same crap different day.

What a very nasty person you seem to be secretsquirrel. This was a FUN DOG show for Lab rescue and CASST (SCO35708).

The judges though, may be not Crufts judges ( FUN DAY!) were certainly very experienced dog people.

I was not there. I started this thread to see if everyone had fun . I did not expect a free for all of nastiness. The ladies from Mucky Pups held the show to help local people. Local people were good enough to come along and take part, raising money for local groups. Surely there is not cause for the nasty comment made. If the show was not run to the high standards of Crufts that is because it was a local show, run by lovey people who care and want to give something back to the community they live in. If you want Crufts go to Crufts but don't be nasty or make unfounded comments on people you obviously don't know.

I don't think a local dog show needs a "Crufts Approved" judge unless it was for a Crufts qualifier, which this dog show was not.

Think Kevin has hit the nail on the head with the last sentence in his post - that was my thoughts too

Like to say that my daughter really enjoyed the show, and did win "reserve" best in show trophy, 1st for pedigree dog, 1st best groomed, 1st for obedience and best adult dog with our lovely pomeranian. To some she may look like a cat!!
Does anyone know who took photos as we would like to see some?
It was the first time either one of them had been to a show, and they really loved it.

It's funny as those who shout and moan the loudest are always those who never so much as offer a helping hand to improve things.
