I think it is a bit much to get indignant about pirates and then to go on bragging about our Viking ancestors.

Here is a more realistic perspective - much of it using data analysis from St. Andrews University, an internationally acclaimed leader in studies of terror and terrorism.

Interesting reading. Wherever there is lawlessness then somone will indulge in banditry in one form or another.

I think the comments about there being a lack of commitment through simply not being able to solve all the world's problems at once are very true. It's also worth pointing out that piracy isn't a problem just in this area.

Bit of a myth about the majority of Vikings, BTW.;)
