Last Sunday I eventually got to go and see the Cnoc Freicaidien Cairns (probably spelt it wrong, apologies) near Shebster which I have been planning to do for quite some time. I was most impressed and the views from the hill were stunning. My only criticism was that for tourists there is no sign at the layby to say you are there and the interpretive board put up by Historic Scotland was a poor do. It could have said so much more and explained the layout of the cairns etc. etc. I'm sure if they were in Orkney there would be masses of info. Why do we not advertise our wonderful archeology and make it an attraction for tourists?
