Some great memories of Scots movies tonight on Grampian...ops , sorry ITV1. Whisky Galore, Comfort & Joy, Gregory's Girl, etc.
As an aside, was struck whilst watching the clips of Comfort & Joy by the resemblance of Bill Paterson to Christopher Plummer in their younger days.
Plummer is a Canadian...wonder if he's got Scottish roots!

Hi AT, I have all of those films on the shelves here...made a big point of collecting Scottish output about three years ago and have amassed a fair few by now.

All good stuff.
Do you have a faovurite?...mine would have to be the incomparable....

Oh yes Percy, Local Hero has long been a favourite!
Especially as I was long acquainted with the attractions of the village of Pennan long before it featured in the film.
It was nice to be reminded of the other films in the programme though.
It also brought to mind the brilliant "Reuben, Reuben" with Tom Conti as the alcoholic Scots poet on an American tour!
I used to have an Old English Sheepdog who was just as barmy as Reuben.
Thankfully without the same outcome!

I bought this a few weeks ago and have to say it's absolutely dire.
Perhaps the worst film ever to come out of Scotland - in my experience anyway.
Second viewing out of the question - life's too short.

I remember enjoying "I know where I'm going".
But obviously not everyone is fond of it!
