Forgot to mention in my previous postings of my suprizingly nice experience of the slaughter house...Yesterday I went to pick up piggy no 2 from wick slaughter house and again found the staff helpfull. Thought this would be a bit of a grim place but was met with the craik of the day and even got piggy split for transport and ease of handling at the other end...not at all too much hassle for the nice staff! They have followed my posting of the pig keeping and killing and had noticed I had missed out the killing bit so thought I would rectify this by putting a big thumbs up to their services and to highly recommend them to any other would be pig keeper/eater/smallholders! Now back to the task at hand I am making piggy stews for freezer.
