Gee Whizz!! Can't we just ask for opinions now? Are we so insecure that we crave the magic % sign that PROVES we are right?

Down with these piddly Polls I say. Keep polls for issues that really matter.

Who was your favourite Blue Peter presenter (for non-sexual reasons)?

Do you prefer:- "I Can't Believe it's Not Butter", or, "I Can't Believe it's NOT I Can't Believe It's not Butter"?

Where does it end? Where should it start? Vote now for credibility.

I don't think all the polls are all trivial it just seems that somone has worked out that if you vote it will bump the thread without adding to it so some clever dick has gone down all the poll threads and bumped them.:confused

John Noakes. No-brainer of an answer, really. Anyone who can skite doon the Cresta Run on the bones o' his hips ticks all the boxes for me.

Neither. I Believe It's Butter. ;)

I other news, I believe many of these polls are being 'brought back to life' from many months ago, long after the original thread has naturally run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible.

What we need is an expiry date for polls.

Thing is, because they don't actually post in the thread, we don't know who's doing all this illicit poll bumping.

Thankfully, the Orgministrators will be able to check the IP addresses logged in the back-end database and match them against the user.

What they do then is up to them, of course. ;)

this is a forum community a place for people to talk about what they want, to socialise and ask opinions advice and questions and although some things may seem trivial to some not so to others obviously, if you dont want to state whether you like utterly butterly or not dont do it

there is no law saying you have to do every poll or answer every thread and there is no law saying you have to read and be a part of every thread, if certain people are happy asking about butters and margarines why deny them the pleasure of discussing spreads they put on their toast

im sure you may discuss things others are not interested and would be offended if people said it wasnt suitable or wasnt worth talking about

there are majorities and minorities in every part of the world and neither should be treated with more importance or respect than others :Razz

You know it may not be somebody just bumping the polls,it may be that new members go through old threads and just decide to vote, the same thing happened to a friend of mine when she joined, she answered an old thread and took quite some stick for doing it  x

maybe its just me but i personally dont see the problem with people doing polls or how old they are you dont have to do them again and it is a sad case if they get to you just for someone else doing them

Haven't been here long enough to say but some appear a bit pointless but hey each to their own.

Polls I would like to see though ....

"Should I be allowed to run over people who deliberately stand blocking the road in the Asda car park while unloading their shopping slower than a glacier moves ??"

"Should I be allowed to be sarcastic to women who take twenty minutes at a cashpoint to withdraw their money .. card in .. card out .. card in .. all the while rummaging through their bag for something ??"

"Should people who take ten minutes to reach the front of the line in Starbucks and only then start to decide what they want be knocked unconcious and deported ??"

"Should we be given the home phone numbers for telemarketers so we can phone them at home when THEY have just sat down to their dinner ??"

Sorry. I am back to work on Monday and the stress is kicking in already.

So what is the purpose of this poll? Just another 'piddly poll' as you put it? :confused

It takes a thief to catch a thief and a piddly to bring down other piddlies.

IRONY:-

"The essential feature of irony is the indirect presentation of a contradiction between an action or expression and the context in which it occurs."

I hope that explains everything.
