Although a few miles away from Thurso/Wick it is worth checking this pub out.

Open fire, delicious cooking (sit in or take away), good selection of beers and malts all make for an unusual change from the hustle and bustle of town pubs

Strathy beach is great for dogs, my one just loves running around the rock shelves which stand up out of the sand and jumping the big puddles.
