Good thing or bad?? (I mean for kids/teenagers) What does everyone think?
Personally I think they are a terrible idea. They just seem to be another place for the bullies to strike!
Does anyone have any thoughts or tips on them??

hi girnigoe, I'm not sure what Piczo websites are, but the first thought in my mind was the contradiction between your fear/dislike of bullies and your Chicks Rule avatar depicting a girl knocking a guy's block off.....
I have never heard of them either..... feeling old now

I posted on this subject 2 weks ago & got no response.
There were a pair of wick lassies with a site slagging off evry1 on it but its since been shut down

Difference Connie, NO-one is slagging off toddlers on this board or using foul Language though.
Anyway for those who dont know what Piczo websites are...
They seem to be the in thing for teenagers who have access to a computer at the moment. Basically they can make up a website of their own. They are then usually split into different pages. i.e All About Me or My Hobbies etc etc. They normally have Guestbooks where people visiting the site can sign to say Hi or tell the maker what they think of their site.
The bullies seem to be taking advantage of being able to get to their victims by leaving AWFUL messages on their sites.
The nasty ones seem to think its funny to have on their website a Likes/Dislikes page on which they put pictures/comments about people they dont like.
So I was just really interested to see what other people thought about them and if they think Piczo should have more control over what is put on these sites??

I read about one of them in some small town where it was the local football team that was getting a right slagging off....
Really, who cares? If people want to leave nasty comments, they will. If the people who makes these awful websites are stupid enough to make a comment or guest book area, then its their choice.

I know the avatar is supposed to be a bit of fun. Do you ever wonder if all bullies think they are just having a bit of fun? I don't mean to get after you, just wondering if you see the connection.
In fairness, Jeid, I suspect the majority of kids with these sites are naively thinking "Oh yeah, I'll stick a comments section in so I can see what my mates say", not even considering the possibility of kids they don't like getting hold of their URL.
I'm not sure about the Pizco bods being more in control - perhaps parents/families need to look at educating their kids on how to use the internet, and how it can be abused? Just my opinion.
I happen to know that my neice (12yrs) has one of these sites, and I too, never even considered that it may be abused by others. This thread has opened my eyes, and i'll be sure to have a chat with her, to make her aware of the vulnerabilities that these sites have.

To be honest the piczo sites seem boring and stupid <IMO.
But if you get offended by some of the content then really you need to take a check in reality.
There will always be someone in your life that posts comments about you/being, well in a way a bullie towards you.
I'm not condoning this but the facts remains that this will happen and it's much easier to take it as it comes than to get worked up about it.
Some contain pics etc of them(the maker) and there mates while others are there to spread hate, others are there to make you laugh and some are just random.........just like society.
So to sum up I really couldn't care less about piczo sites.

Piczo? Dont get me started on this! They are a terrible idea! I've had first hand experience of this! Nothing is monitored, however if you complain, the site in question will be shut down straightaway!
The real problem lies with the parents who in a hell of a lot cases haven't a clue what their kids are doing on the internet!
These sites could be a paedophiles paradise! [disgust]
take a look at my post and u wil se what picking on people are about,just coz i like modified cars,i think its a terrible idea,they should be taught web design in high school and only be able to access it from the high school,piczo.com ewtc load of rubbish really!!

I don't agree that High School kids should be allowed internet access in school hours!
I know for A FACT that PORN was able to be viewed quite easily in Wick High during lessons.
well in thurso high alot of things are band including piczo sites. 1 time i was in ict and i was looking up a definition for a pixel on google and it wouldn't even let me on that. i don't know about wick high though.
My understanding is that all sites are sent down to Inverness and blocked there. I also understand that they have upgraded their software. There was a thread in here about too much blocking in the library of what should have been ok searches because of the new software Inverness is using.
