Wick - Thurso Diversion

There are signs on the A9 directing a diversion towards Georgemas but when you get to the Halkirk turn off that road is closed too and there are no signs, I had to go through Spittal and then off toward Westerdale, back towards Halkirk and then back on the A9 at the Hoy junction.

There is a lot of confusion with motorists all over the place. If travelling to Thurso today please take the Castletown road.

According to MFR today at 1pm, there was an accident on the Halkirk road, so this is probably why there are diversions in place.....

One man killed and one man and a woman injured in a car crash near Halkirk. Police have said the road will be closed for quite some time.
