Problems downloading attachments in email.

I can't download attachments using the AOL software or IE 7 at the AOL site. The dialogue box pops up which says run/save/cancel then when I click save or run no download process initiates, in the case of using AOL it just freezes up, with IE 7 it flashes up with a dialogue box so quickly that it is impossible to read and no later search results in the file being downloaded.


OH is the treasurer of the Caithness Cancer Care and it is driving her crazy so she can't download anything from the organisation and I can't get a quick answer out of AOL Help.

I'd suggest maybe using an alternative web browser such as Mozilla firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ and then log into AOL that way ???

I am sure they have a webmail system which you can log into via www.aol.co.uk which redirects to http://info.aol.co.uk/email/

You could also try upping the security for the AOL webmail site. Perhaps changing it from Internet to Trusted Sites or just temporarily change the security for the Internet zone to see if that fixes it.
