My old Dell Dimension 3000 (circa 2001 with Millenium edition) died a while back and I've realised that there are a lot of photos on there that I'd like to retrieve. What options are open to me? I an unable to start windows up.

You could attach the hard drive as a 2nd drive to your existing system and drag the files across.

Alternatively you can get a USB interface which will allow you to connect any hard drive to another system through the USB port and then do the same.

You can ask someone to do either of the above for you if you don't feel able yourself.

Hardly a day goes by when mine is not in use thesedays.
