See that the 2 star airline Ryanair is at it again; "Irish budget airline Ryanair has said it is considering charging passengers for using the toilet while flying".. *
Having had the misfortune to fly with this airline a couple of times (Venice, Dublin) and experience their 'customer service' first hand, nothing surprises me.. Their stated 'no fuel-charges' is negated by their high charges for paying by credit card, they have no way of complaining except by fax or letter, premium rate phones a rip-off, could go on but read for yourself;

They may have to rethink this when they have to dry and fumigate all the wet seats after each flight.:D

lol shabbychic, my first comment to hubby on hearing about this was that they would soon change their mind when folks sat on the crews seats when they needed a pee.

Gullible? nah[/URL]

A statement issued by the Ryanair marketing team shortly after midday said: “Michael makes a lot of this stuff up as he goes along and while this has been discussed internally there are no immediate plans to introduce it."*

Just watched BBC, they interviewed a Travel Editor who confirmed he had spoken to Ryanair's Michael O'leary this week who confirmed they would be taking two of the three toilets out of their fleets and replacing with extra seats, the remaining toilet would be a £1 charge.. having flown on Ryanair it won't make any difference to me..

'LONDON 3 June - Ryanair has confirmed that it plans to charge for toilets on its aeroplanes.The airline's boss, Michael O'Leary, has said that the scheme would be in place within two years.
However, he denied that Ryanair was trying to profit from customers needing a toilet break. The plan aims to discourage passengers from using the toilets onboard, which could then be replaced with additional seating on the aircraft; losing two toilets can create six extra seats.'

I'm sure Ryanair planes will soon stink of stale urine as passengers caught short and fed up waiting for the toilet to be vacant will just use empty plastic bottles, truck driver style, and kick them under the seats....

I didn't know truck drivers did that sort of thing.:confused I have never flown with Ryanair, but I can see the logic in what they are trying to achieve and if passengers do not like the idea then they don't have to fly with them.

Kevin,
Next time you drive along a dual carriageway or a motorway see how many half full plastic bottles containing 'amber' liquid you can spot lying in the central reservation.

One road in this region which is subject to regular traffic jams is littered with such vessels. A truck driver was interviewed recently as he was actually trying to clear up this mess left in the numerous laybys in the region....
