Does anyone have any information on this family name from this area? Sutherland Simpson's mother was Helen Swanson from Canisbay who married William Simpson from Canisbay. Now the family went to Flotta, Orkney Isle, before 1800.
Wondering if Christian/Christina Swanson was a relative of Sutherland's. Here is what the marriage register said:
Sutherland Simpson, Flotta, Orkney and Christian Swanson, Lochside, Olrig, were matrimonially contract 8th February and married 9th March, 1827
