Here's hoping for some clear skies :)
Looking for ideas on where to start? A telescope is not required. Check out some of the astrophotos from this forum and have a look here http://www.astropix.com/HTML/I_ASTROP/QUICK.HTM or http://www.twanight.org/newTWAN/guests_gallery.asp?page=1.
Details of local astronomy events planned during the 2009 can be found at http://www.caithness.org/nightsky/A4%20IYA%20Event%20Flyer%20for%20Web.pdf

I know what you mean :~(.
Unfortunately we couldn't make the closing date years in the future to ensure at least a few clear evenings would have occurred .
A reminder that the closing date for entries for this competition is Friday 29th May, so there's no time to waste - get your entries in quick.
From what I've seen over recent months there are plenty of good astrophotos out there worthy of entry, so why submit them. You never know - you might win a prize.

Mmm...
I only have about two astropics lol (the startrails ones I took) and sadly I`m seriously short of time atm... that`s why I`ve not been on for a wee while and why I`ve not picked up the camera in about 3 weeks!
Interesting though. I`m sure one of you guys have plenty shots you could enter though... :)

I'm involved in organising the competition and the judging, so none of my pics will be entered.
Your star trails pics were very good tjc. I look forward to seeing future astropics when you get the chance.

Cheers astroman.
For first attempts I was quite pleased with them. I`ll be trying again for sure so maybe the next time you have a comp on the go I`ll be in a better position to enter one or two... :)
