Fran is the expert in this, but seem to remember Raigmore Motel just across from the hospital do chalet rooms big enough for families in that price range.

not as cheap as chips right now but at least it shows you prices of rooms in the Travelodges in Inverness (http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/saver_search.php?changeWeek=-1&locpostText=inverness)

Make sure you print a copy of your receipt from them and get the receptionist to sign that you actually took up the booking as you will need this to claim your refund on the NHS scheme.

Pay to park? At the hospital?...... thought the government had abolished parking charges at all but three hospitals in the south of scotland.

Or do you have to pay to park at the Travelodge? If so, that is a new one to me and we use Travelodge for all our south trips with three weeks notice to get cheap rooms.

Either way, any parking fees in connection with the hospital trip are refundable on the NHS scheme.

Thanks for the memory Aaldtimer. I used to work for a firm with their head office on Ardross Street and when they had a staff night out we always stayed at the Winston. It was lovely there. Glad to see they are not overpriced for their rooms.
