I have just seen some men looking @ the state of the road in High st Wick which has hole's , crack's , puddle's ,retarred bits ,bumps etc in it ,will it be getting redone shortly by a contractor or patched up ?

definatly will be a patch up job by probably the same cowboys who did it the last time they did such a good job last time, so much so it didn't lady a bang!

They were patched up, also on the road to Reiss, but have returned to big holes again now, so watch out when driving.

The roads are so bad from reiss right throughto the reatil park at the out skirts of wick they would be a lot cheaper to resurface the lot

Don't blame the contractors for doing a poor job. It's the responsibilty of the council and to what specification they insist the job must meet. If the council's budget falls short, after all the junkets, expenses and fact finding missions have been accounted for then local services and infrastructure will suffer. Take your gripe up with your local councillor or MP but don't expect a straight and honest answer- we all know some of them are just thieving freeloaders.

Couldn't agree more! They're probably off on a fact-finding mission about roads in the Maldives, or Bahamas as we speak :) It's a difficult job but someone's got to do it... It helps if you don't have a conscience.

The area thats bad was the first phase that was done and includes a ski ramp where it joins the road at George st. It has been cutting up since day one. It's not the only road in Wick thats a terrible state with Argyle Square and the South Road both also a disgrace. Another is Henrietta St at the junction with Girnigoe St. All these bumps and pot holes are causing mayhem with cars and the local garages are being kept busy replacing springs, Question is would this be allowed to happen in Inverness.

The pot holes in Henrietta street were patched up a couple of days ago, not that you can really notice the difference now!
