There i was last night at my weekly karaoke evening and at the strike of 12pm 2 women got the shock of there lives. One was a 2nd time around couple, he sang a song then popped the question...she said yes, then my x-daughter-in-laws boyfriend went up to the stage and called his girlfriend up. She thought he was going to say im taking you to Paris tomorrow(not me you silly ppl ) as they had talked about it the week before, but he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, she excepted. Well by this time i was in floods of tears, ive never had anything so nice happen to me , no surprises, no flowers in fact nothing ! No hubby isn't a romantic at all, SIGHS !
Has anyone else had anything romantic happen to them??

An unmarried couple who lived in America were heading over to Britain on holiday with some friends. At the last minute the bloke said he couldn't make it because of work. This was true because he hadn't booked off the day they were to fly out. Of course his girlfriend was very disappointed but he managed to persuade her to go without him anyway.
Unbeknownst to her this was all part of his plan. He flew out the day after they left and stayed a couple of miles from where his friends and his girlfriend was staying. His friends knew all about the plan.
So the next day they arranged to visit a castle, where the boyfriend jumped out on his girlfriend with a bunch of flowers and a proposal!
She was so surprised and overcome she cryed and laughed for about 30min! Set the new world record for saying the word "yes" as much as possible in 30 min!
True story. Wasn't on Valentines day but thought you might appreciate it anyway..... :)

We agreed not to do anything,now wish we hadnt.I'm not particularly romantic but reading the docs post made me go ahh.....

Alice, ignore his previous comments on age. In this forum age doesn't count (unless you are trying to include the Rolling Stones). It is only in the real world that some people worry about these things.

mr jay was most dleighted to arrive home from work tonight and find a large red envelope awaiting him - I was most confused cos' I didn't send it! after some messing about he was persuaded to open it only to find it was from sky offering him some deal on sky+! the jayettes found it most amusing

Paris, you sounded so unhappy that I was tempted to register under a new user name and send you an anonymous message. But then I remembered that I had taken the Cedric pledge on another thread and that I was really pushing the envelope with the forum moderators over my plan to aquire 75 posts. I wasn't going to put my trusted status in jeopardy. Besides you would have figured out the real source when you saw the posting time.
Instead, I will give you a little laugh as your Valentine. I had a "heads up" on the love note from DrSzin but didn't know in which thread it was posted. Looking at the thread list, I went straight to "Gentlemen in Black Velvet." So it wasn't very romantic but what do I know about moles? I doubt that I have ever seen one.
I hope that you had a good day in the end. I was forced to eat chocolate tonight. Someone claimed that it was a law on February 14.
