I picked him up at the pound shop.
Transfer fee a quid.
He's good at taking pens.
I've called him 'Shearer'

Is there a reason for this thread? Mr T., I do believe you're tenure at the allotment has been usurped!

Fear not. Frivolity is not entirely an alien concept but I'll soon wrap 'im up and put him back.

He's particularly good in the box.
It's a short career after all.

(I'm down to dregs one horned one... and the bitter is backing away from me) ;-)

The frivolity or humour, call it what you will, is going from BAAA'd to worse.

Now that percy has sobered up he may be feeling rather sheepish. :)

Not at all jox....but appreciate the sentiment...in fact the whole concept has touched my funnybone.
So much so that I've signed a couple more pot sheep footballers from t'pound shop this aft.

I'm keeping the other striker under wraps for now but I'm calling one of 'em Chopra....he's especially at home in mid field.

Incidentally I can handle me ale and hardly ever get 'drunk'... and I wasn't yesterday ;-) mellow and expansive I calls it!

Baaa Humbug!

Absolutely excellent...perhaps Everton might be interested, though he'd cost a mint.

I did put a late bid in for Michael Ovine but the window had closed.

...four of 'em....

Alamb Shearer
...a rhyming cutlet...

...With four heeled drive he's fleet of foot
Cloven hooves pack a punch in every boot.
Baa Baa full-back as he legs it doon the wing
Mutton on the move: a flying fleecy thing.

He'll put teams on the rack (of lamb) with a shimmy of his shanks
And full time brings a welcome dip into his dipping tank.
Not often would I pen an ode but just to make it clearer
As four legged forwards come and go you can't beat Alamb Shearer.

He once tried for a speaking part in the Silence of the Lambs
And the board at Derby County want to sign him for the Rams.
But other clubs are flocking now to sign this wonder 'kid'
The Grazers at Old Trafford are toying with a bid.

L.F.C. and Everton are both known to enthuse
Merseyside's seen nothing like him since the days of Emlyn Ewes.
But we'll end the speculation here before it gets much dafter
And as poetry goes this witty ditty will never see a BAFTA !

Wanchop is fine, but you really need a crown roast to get your moneys worth.
