Thanks everyone, this was just hand held at the telescope eyepiece with a 18-55mmlens in manual and exposure of 100th/sec at iso 100
It would be possible to do the same with a spotting scope provided the eyepiece
is large enough in diameter,if not you end up getting just a little bit of the moon.
It might be possible to do the same with binoculars so long as they were on a tripod, never tried it but it might work.Give it go.You might well get a pleasant surprise.
Fantastic detail, especially considering the approach used.
I've had a fair degree of success holding a compact camera at a telescope eyepiece, but haven't tried it with a DSLR.
just keep them coming MPH fantastic as usual..
Stunning shots Mystical Potato Head.
Amazing detail.
Pity about the eclipse though.
