Was very sad to hear this news on BBC this afternoon - "Solid Air" is one of my all-time favourite albums.

There's some great footage of him on Youtube, particularly the Old Grey Whistle Test stuff.
I'm off to have a dram on his behalf.

John Will be sadly missed, I knew he had his health problems but he was a fighter.

He influenced so many artists over the years and his musical talent will keep his spirit alive forever.

He was justly awarded an OBE in the recent Queen's Honours List at the New Year.
