just a question for you astronomers out there...what's the name of the very bright star/planet in the southern sky just now???

Someone told me it was either Jupiter or Venus but not sure if thats true. Hopefully someone more knowledgable can let us know....

Venus is the bright star to the opposite side, we saw that a few years back, it is Jupiter

If you click on this link it will tell you near the bottom of the page which planets are above the horizon after sunset and before dawn.

The bright star directly over Wick just now is called "Dodi". Cos everything in Wick is called Dodi. Even the wimmin.
