Bricketts

Hi there

Was wondering if anyone uses bricketts

Are they any good and if so do u have a number of somewhere to buy them from? :D

I have never heard of them or seen them, just overheard someone talking about them a couple of weeks ago [lol]

Any help would be great

Hi, i used them mixed with wood,find they keep the heat longer as long as they arnt poked!Also find in my case they work out cheaper than coal.
Cant find his number just now but will be on later and put it on,

Have you ever thought of making your own Paper Briquettes, they are supposed to burn fine and are almost free as they are made from waste paper etc.

Arabs use them to start camel races.

Unless they've changed they used to be made of compressed coal dust and were about the size of a house brick, hence the name.

Many moons ago you could get them from the Coal Mine in Brora alas a thing of the past It was closed down a long time ago

You get them from Forsinard (delivered) and they are very good/warm/cheap and clean. The only problem we ever found was that they retain their heat in the ash. Honestly 2 days after burning, the ash has the characteristics of fluid and its like piluvial flow from a volcano. Certainly worth using with sticks etc as it really keeps the heat/fire burning. The Guy who supplies it is an absolute gentleman from one of the Nordic countries.
